The "Taka-kibi" (Sorghum bicolor) belongs to Poaceae (the Grass family). It is an annual herb that is a type of Grain sorghum native to tropical Africa. It is a conventional long rod type with a height of about 3 m. The middle rib of the leaf is whitish same as Kaoliang (Sorghum nervosum). A lot of flowers will bloom in racemes at the terminal stems from August to September. The fruits ripen reddish brown around September to October. The spikes of native species are sporadic because of if they are fusiform-shaped, they prone to be humid and moldy. It is a sticky rice, and is milled and used for dumplings and rice cakes.
