The Thalictrum urbaini belongs to Ranunculaceae (the Buttercup family). It is a perennial herb that is endemic to Taiwan. It grows in the lowland forests of the whole island and can reach 10-40 cm in height. The stems are smooth and shiny. The leaves are biternate to triternate compound with ovate, obovate or elliptic leaflets. In early spring, white flowers come on the tips of the stems. In Taiwanese Chinese, it is called "傅氏唐松草".
