キク科コウモリソウ属の多年草で、学名は Cacalia farfaraefolia var. bulbifera。英名はありません。
The "Tama-buki" (Parasenecio farfarifolius var. bulbifer) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed northward from Kanto district of Honshu to Hokkaido. This herb grows along streams and in forest edges, and can reach 50-150 cm in height. The leaves are deltoid-cordate, coarsely serrated with long petioles. The leaf surfaces bear sparse hairs and the abaxial sides are covered thickly with white spiderweb-like hairs. The propagules are borne on the axils. The yellow flower-heads bloom in the terminal panicles from August to October. The flower-heads consist of 5-6 bisexual tubular flowers.
