たまいぶき (玉伊吹) [Index] [Back] わが国の本州、岩手県以南の太平洋側から四国、九州それに朝鮮半島や中国に分布する「いぶき（伊吹）」の園芸品種です。高さは５０〜１００センチになり、樹形が球形状になるのが特徴です。丈夫な性質ですが、日向を好む陽樹で、日陰では枝葉がまばらになるなど生育が悪くなります。 ヒノキ科ビャクシン属の常緑高木で、学名は Juniperus chinensis cv. Globosa (syn. Sabina chinensis cv. Globosa)。英名は Globe Chinese juniper。 The Globe Chinese juniper (Juniperus chinensis cv. Globosa) belongs to Cupressaceae (the Cypress family). It is a tall evergreen tall that is a horticultural variety of "Chinese juniper" that is native to the Pacific coast of Japan -from Iwate Prefecture southward on Honshu- as well as Shikoku, Kyushu, the Korean Peninsula, and China. It grows to a height of 50 to 100 cm and is characterized by its spherical shape.
