	わが国の各地をはじめ、世界中の温帯から暖帯に分布しています。和名は、苗代をつくる前、種籾を水に漬けるころに花が咲くことから。３月から７月ごろ、小さな白い４弁花を咲かせます。別名で「こめなずな（米薺）」と呼ばれ、古くから食用にされてきました。また、漢方では胃痛や整腸薬とされます。
	アブラナ科タネツケバナ属の二年草で、学名は Cardamine flexuosa。英名は Wavy bittercress。
	The Wavy bittercress (Cardamine flexuosa) belongs to Brassicaceae (the Mustard family). It is a biennial herb that is distributed throughout Japan and the temperate and warm climate worldwidely. The Japanese name comes from the fact that the flowers bloom around the time when the seed rice is soaked in water before making seedlings. The small four petaled flowers come in March to July. This herb has been used from the ancient days for foods, and herbal medicines for stomach distress or antiflatuent.
