朝鮮半島に分布しています。また、この園芸品種もあります。山地のやや薄暗いところに生え、高さは２０〜３０センチになります。葉は２回３出複葉で、小葉は卵形です。６月から８月ごろ、円錐花序をだして小さな白い花を咲かせます。和名の「耽羅」は、済州島に古代から中世にかけて存在した王国のことです。

The Dwarf goatsbeard (Aruncus aethusifolius) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the Korean Peninsula. This variety appears in cultivation. This herb grows in semi-shade places of mountains and it can reach 20-30 cm in height. The leaves are biternate compound with ovate leaflets. The panicles are borne and bloom small white flowers from June to August. The Japanese name "Tanna" (Tamna) is a kingdom that existed on Jeju Island from ancient times to the Middle Ages.
