The Takane-ominaeshi (Patrinia sibirica) belongs to Valerianaceae (the Valerian family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in Hokkaido in Japan, the Kuril Islands, China, Mongolia, and Siberia. It grows on gravel and grasslands in the alpine zone and can reach 5 to 15 cm in height. The leaves are spoon-shaped and deeply split like feathers and basal. From July to August, inflorescences are borne to the tips of the stems and many yellow flowers bloom. The tip of the corolla splits into 5 and opens flat. It is also known as "Chishima-kinreika".
