ヨーロッパの多くの地域に分布しています。さまざまな生息地に生え、高さは２メートルほどになります。葉は緑色の三角形で、縁には重鋸歯、長い葉柄があります。葉の表面には光沢があり、裏面には毛が生えます。また茎や葉には強い芳香があります。夏から初秋にかけて、分枝した茎頂に、黄色い頭花を咲かせます。頭花の直径は５〜６センチほどで、舌状花は黄色から橙黄色、中央の筒状花は黄色です。よく庭園で、観賞用植物として利用されています。

キク科テレキア属の多年草で、学名は Telekia speciosa。英名は Heart-leaved oxeye、Yellow oxeye。

The Heart-leaved oxeye (Telekia speciosa) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in many parts of Europe. It grows in a variety of habitats and can be up to 2 m tall. The leaves are green and triangular with biserrations on the edges and long petioles. The leaf surface is shiny and the underside is hairy. The stems and leaves have a strong fragrance. Yellow flower heads bloom at the top of branched stems from summer to early fall. The ray flowers are yellow to orange-yellow, and the central tubular flower is yellow. It is often used as an ornamental plant in gardens.
