アメリカの中南部からメキシコ北東部に分布しています。林縁や牧草地、道ばたなどに生え、高さは５０センチほどになります。根生葉はへら形から楕円形で、全縁または２〜６個の切れ込みがあります。茎葉は狭楕円形から線形です。４月から９月ごろ、茎頂に黄色い頭花を咲かせます。頭花は直径１０〜２５ミリ、舌状花が９〜２５個あります。果実は冠毛のある痩果です。

キク科テトラネウリス属の一年草で、学名は Tetraneuris linearifolia。英名は Fineleaf fournerved daisy。

The Fineleaf fournerved daisy (Tetraneuris linearifolia) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is an annual herb that is distributed in the south-central United States and northeastern Mexico. It grows at forest edges, in meadows and along roadsides, and is about 50 cm tall. The basal leaves are spatulate to elliptic, entire or with two to six lobes. The cauline leaves are narrowly elliptic to linear. The yellow flower heads bloom at the top of the stem from April to September. The flower heads are 10-25 mm in diameter with 9-25 ray florets. The fruit is an achene with pappi.
