アメリカ西部のカリフォルニア州とオレゴン州に分布しています。草地や低木の茂みなどに生え、高さは３０〜２００センチほどになります。葉は３出複葉で、小葉は倒披針形から卵形、白い短毛が生えて灰緑色をしています。４月から６月ごろ、総状花序をだして、黄色い蝶形花を咲かせます。 |

マメ科センダイハギ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Thermopsis macrophylla。英名は Santa Inez goldenbanner、California falselupine。 |

The Santa Inez goldenbanner (Thermopsis macrophylla) belongs to Fabaceae (the Pea family). It is an evergreen herb that is distributed in California and Oregon in the western United States. It grows in grasslands and bushes of shrubs, and can reach a height of 30 to 200 cm. The leaves are three-lobed compound leaves, and the leaflets are lanceolate to ovate, with short white hairs and a grayish green color. From April to June, racemes are borne and yellow papillionaceous flowers come in bloom. |
