The Apennean pennycress (Thlaspi stylosum) belongs to Brassiaceae (the Mustard family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the central and southern Alps of Europe. This herb grows in rocks and screes, to 2000 m elevation, form mound, and can reach 3-4 cm in height. The leaves are elliptical-spoon-shaped, untoothed, and mostly in basal rosettes. The purplish flowers with violet anthers bloom from April to June.
