The "Chichibu-shirokane-so" (Enemion raddeanum) belongs to Ranunculaceae (the Buttercup family). It is a perennial herb that is native northward from Nagano Prefecture of Honshu to Hokkaido in Japan, as well as the Korean Peninsula, northeastern China and Ussuri region. This herb grows in forest edges along deep mountain streams, and it can reach 20-35 cm in height. The leaves are ternate to twice ternate compound with three-lobed and irregular leaflets. The upper leaves are petiolated and the underneath leaves are sessile. The white flowers bloom in the umbels atop of stems from April to May. The corolla is non-petaled and has five-lobate sepals. In Chinese, it is called "擬扁果草" (ni bian guo cao).
