トデア・バルバラ [Index] [Back] オーストラリア南東部、ニュージーランドそれに南アフリカに分布しています。熱帯雨林の森林や渓流沿いに生え、高さは３メートルほどになります。幹は太くて高さ１メートルほどになります。葉は１回羽状深裂から２回羽状複葉で革質、長さは１．２〜３．５メートルになります。小羽片は長楕円形で、先端は鋭く尖り、縁に鋸歯があります。 ゼンマイ科トデア属の常緑シダ類で、学名は Todea barbara。英名は King fern、Crape fern。 The King fern (Todea barbara) belongs to Osmundaceae (the Osmund fern family). It is an evergreen fern that is distributed in southeastern Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. It grows in tropical rainforests and along streams, reaching heights of about 3 m. The trunk is thick, growing to about 1 m in height. The fronds are pinnately compound, either once or twice pinnate, leathery, and 1.2 to 3.5 m long.
