カシミールやチベットの西部が原産です。標高3000〜4000メートルの草地や砂礫地に生え、高さは5センチほどです。ランナーを伸ばしてカーペット状に広がります。葉は広いへら形で、赤っぽい繊毛が生えています。5月から6月ごろ、花茎をだして淡いピンク色の花を咲かせます。 
サクラソウ科トチナイソウ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Androsace sempervivoides。英名はありません。 
The Androsace sempervivoides belongs to Primulaceae (the Primrose family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to Kashmir and the western part of Tibet. It grows on grasslands and gravel at an altitude of 3000 to 4000 m, and is about 5 cm high. It extends the runners and spreads like a carpet. The leaves are wide spatula-shaped with reddish cilia. From May to June, the flower stalks come out and the pale pink flowers come in bloom.
