とさとらふだけ (土佐虎斑竹)

わが国の四国、高知県須崎市安和（旧高岡郡新荘村安和）にだけ分布しています。「はちく（淡竹）」の変種で、「はちく」に似ていますが、桿の表面に茶褐色の虎斑状の斑紋が入ります。この斑は生理的ではなく、寄生菌によって形成されるといいます。建築用や工芸品などに利用されています。 |

イネ科マダケ属の常緑タケ類で、学名は Phyllostachys nigra var. tosaensis。英名はありません。 |

"Tosa-torafu-dake" (Phyllostachys nigra var. tosaensis) belongs to Poaceae (the Grass family). It is an evergreen bamboo that is distributed only in Awa, Susaki City, Kochi Prefecture in Shikoku, Japan. It is a variety of "Hachiku", similar to "Hachiku", but with brown tiger spots on the surface of the culum. This plaque is said to be formed by parasites rather than physiological. It is used for construction and crafts. |
