わが国の各地をはじめ、朝鮮半島や中国に分布する「くさよし（草葦）」の園芸品種です。高さは１〜１．８メートルになり、葉は線形でざらつきます。葉に白色と淡紅色の条斑が入るのが特徴です。

イネ科クサヨシ属の多年草で、学名は Phalaris arundinacea cv. Tricolor。英名は Tricolor reed canarygrass。

The Tricolor reed canarygrass (Phalaris arundinacea cv. Tricolor) belongs to Poaceae (the Grass family). It is a perennial herb that is a cultivar of "Reed canarygrass" distributed in various parts of Japan, the Korean Peninsula and China. The height is 1 to 1.8 m, and the leaves are linear and grainy. It is characterized by white and pink streaks on the leaves.
