The Pacific trillium (Trillium ovatum) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is native to western North America. This herb grows in cool moist mixed woods, coniferous forests, redwoods, and it can reach 10-45 cm in height. The stem is erect and the leaves are linear to broad ovate with pointed tip. The flowers are white fading to pink or deep rose-red as aging, and bloom in early spring. The sepals are green and lance-shaped.
