つばめずいせん (燕水仙) [Index] [Back] メキシコからグアテマラに分布しています。岩石の多い丘陵の斜面に生え、高さは５０センチほどになります。葉は線形で根生します、春に花茎を伸ばし、鮮やかな緋色から深紅色の花を咲かせます。花披片は６個です。 ユリ科スプレケリア属の多年草で、学名は Sprekelia formosissima。英名は Aztec Lily。 The Aztec lily (Sprekelia formosissima) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Mexico and Guatemala. This herb grows in rocky hillsides and can reach about 50 cm in height. The leaves are linear and basal. The flowering stalk comes out and the brilliant scarlet or crimson flowers bloom in spring. The flower has six tepals.
