マダガスカルの中部が原産です。基部からよく分枝して、高さは５０センチほどになります。葉の表面には白い軟毛が密生しています。また葉の先端あたりには褐色の縁取りがあります。大きくなると、黄緑色の花を咲かせます。

ベンケイソウ科リュウキュウベンケイ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Kalanchoe tomentosa。英名は Panda plant、Pussy ears。

The Panda plant (Kalanchoe tomentosa) belongs to Crassulaceae (the Orpine family). It is an evergreen herb that is native to central Madagascar. It branches well from the base and is about 50 cm high. White vellus hair is densely grown on the surface of the leaves. There is also a brown border around the tip of the leaf. When it grows up, it blooms yellow-green flowers.
