わが国の固有種で、本州から四国・九州に分布しています。平地から山地の林縁や道ばたなどに生え、高さは２〜４メートルになります。枝の上部は枝垂れます。葉は３出複葉で、楕円形の小葉は厚みがあります。その先端は円頭からくぼむものまで変異があります。７月から１０月ごろ、葉腋から総状花序をだし、淡紅紫色の蝶形花を咲かせます。翼弁が旗弁よりも短く、濃赤紫色をしていること、萼裂片の先端が円頭などの特徴があります。 |

マメ科ハギ属の落葉低木で、学名は Lespedeza homoloba。英名はありません。 |

The "Tsukushi-hagi" (Lespedeza homoloba) belongs to Fabaceae (the Pea family). It is a deciduous small tree that is endemic to Japan and ditributed from Honshu to Shikoku and Kyushu. This tree grows in flatland to montane forest edges and roadsides, and can reach 2-4 m in height. The upper stems are weeping. The leaves are trifoliate and the leaflets are elliptic and thick. The tip of leaflets are variable, round to emarginate. The racemes are borne on the axils and bloom pale magenta papilionacenous flowers from July to October. It is defined that the wing petals are shorter than the flag petals and dark magenta, and the tip of calyx lobes are round. |
