イランからトルコにかけてのクルジスタン地方に分布しています。フミリス種の変種で、矮性で高さは１０センチほどしかなく、灰緑色の薄い槍形の葉が生えます。３月の下旬に、藤紫色の花を咲かせます。花被片の基部は黄色です。写真は、おそらく園芸品種の「ブラックベース（cv. Black Base）」。花被片は赤紫色で、基部は黒色です。

ユリ科チューリップ属の多年草で、学名は Tulipa humilis var. violacea。英名は Crocus tulip。

The Crocus tulip (Tulipa humilis var. violacea) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from Iran to Turkey in the Kurdistan region. It is a variety of the Tulipa humilis, it is dwarf, only about 10 cm high, and has pale gray-green spear-shaped leaves. The lavender purple flowers come in late March. The base of the tepal is yellow. The photos are probably the cultivar 'cv. Black Base'. Its tepal is purplish red and the base is black.
