中央アジアのウズベキスタンやイラン、アフガニスタンに分布しています。矮性で、高さは１０〜１５センチほどです。灰緑色の葉は細く、縁が波打っています。５月ごろ、花茎をだして、光沢のある濃い赤色の花を咲かせます。花冠の中心部には、小さな漆黒の斑があります。

ユリ科チューリップ属の多年草で、学名は Tulipa linifolia。英名はありません。

The Tulipa linifolia belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in Uzbekistan, Iran and Afghanistan in Central Asia. It is dwarf and is about 10 to 15 cm high. The gray-green leaves are thin and have wavy edges. Around May, the flower stalks come out and the shiny dark red flowers come in bloom. In the center of the corolla is a small jet-black spot.
