The Touch-me-not (Impatiens textori) belongs to Balsaminaceae (the Balsam family). It is an annual herb that is native to Japan, as well as the Korean Peninsula and China. This herb grows in montane water's edges or marshes and can reach 50-80 cm in height. The leaves are broad lanceolate and alternate with fine toothed edges. The long peduncles are borne on the axiles and the magenta flowers bloom from August to September. The flower is a tubular corolla that is hooked at one end and looks like Noah's ark. When the seed pods mature, they explode when touched, sending seeds away. It is called "野鳳仙花" (ye feng xian hua) in Chinese.
