わが国の本州、中部地方以北から関東地方、東北地方南部の太平洋側に分布している「つくばとりかぶと」の白花品種です。品種としては未確定で、一昨年は３株あったものが今年は１株しか見あたらないそうです。したがって学名も独断の暫定です。

キンポウゲ科トリカブト属の多年草で、学名は Aconitum tsukubense f. alba。英名はありません。

"Tsukuba-torikabuto-shirobana" (Aconitum tsukubense) belongs to Ranunculaceae (the Buttercup family). It is a perennial herb that is a white-flowered form of the "Tsukuba-torikabuto" which is distributed to Honshu of Japan, northward from Chubu district to the Pacific Ocean Sea Side of Kanto and southern Tohoku district. This has not been fixed to an individual form. Its scientific name is also temporary.
