ワイエティア・スカブラ [Index] [Back] アメリカの中西部、モンタナ州から南にアリゾナ州、ニューメキシコ州に分布しています。砂漠の潅木帯やピニョン松の群生などに生え、高さは３０〜６０センチになります。葉は狭い楕円形で主脈は目立ち、表面はざらざらで互生します。４月から６月ごろ、茎頂にひとつずつ黄色い頭花を咲かせます。舌状花は鮮やかな黄色で１０〜２３個あり、中心花は黄色で非常に多くあります。 キク科ワイエティア属の多年草で、学名は Wyethia scabra (syn. Scabrethia scabra)。英名は Rough mule's-ear。 The Rough mule's-ear (Wyethia scabra) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed to the central-western United States, from Montana south to Arizona and New Mexico. This herb grows in desert shrub and pinyon-juniper communities, and can reach 30-60 cm in height. The leaves are scabrous, narrowly elliptic with prominent midvein and arranged in alternate. The yellow flower-heads, at least 7cm across, bloom solitary at the stem tips from April to June.
