オーストラリア原産のフィキフォリア種（Eucalyptus ficifolia）とプティコカルパ種（Eucalyptus ptychocarpa）との種間交雑種です。成長が早く、高さは５メートル以上になります。葉は披針形で、幼木では対生、成木では互生します。夏に、ピンク色の雄しべが目立つ花を咲かせます。花弁は萼片と合着して帽子状となり、開花すると落下します。

フトモモ科ユーカリ属の常緑高木で、学名は Eucalyptus cv. Summer Beauty。英名は Red flowering gum 'Summer Beauty'。

The Red flowering gum 'Summer Beauty' belongs to Myrtaceae (the Myrtle family). It is a tall evergreen tree that is an interspecific hybrid between the Eucalyptus ficifolia and the Eucalyptus ptychocarpa. This tree grows fast and can reach up to 5 m in height. The leaves are lanceolate and alternate when mature (though opposite when young). The flowers with conspicuous pink stamens come in summer. The petals and sepals are connate and form a calotte that drops off at the same time of bloom.
