オーストラリアの東部、クイーンズランド州からニューサウスウェールズ州に分布しています。海岸沿いの林内に生え、高さは５０〜７０メートルになります。樹皮は平滑で白色から灰色、下部では長い紐状に剥離します。葉は披針形で、光沢のある濃緑色をしています。葉腋から散形花序をだし、７〜１１個の白色からクリーム色の花を咲かせます。果実は円錐形から洋梨形です。

フトモモ科ユーカリ属の常緑高木で、学名は Eucalyptus grandis。英名は Flooded gum。

The Flooded gum (Eucalyptus grandis) belongs to Myrtaceae (the Myrtle family). It is a tall evergreen tree that is distributed in the eastern part of Australia, from Queensland to New South Wales. It grows in forests along the coast and can reach 50-70 m in height. The bark is smooth, white to gray, and peels off in a long string at the bottom. The leaves are lanceolate and have a shiny dark green color. The umbel is borne on the axils and blooms 7 to 11 white to cream-colored flowers. The fruits are conical to pear-shaped.
