インド北西部のカシミール地方およびブータンが原産です。草地や道ばたに生え、高さは４０〜７０センチになります。茎は直立し、分枝します。葉は長披針形か長楕円形、ときに狭楕円形で互生します。この濃い緑色の葉には白い中肋があります。また茎の先の葉は丸くて数枚が輪生しています。５月から８月ごろ、杯状花序をだし、黄色い花を咲かせます。この植物は、王立園芸協会の庭園功労賞を受賞しています。

The Horned spurge (Euphorbia cornigera) belongs to Euphorbiaceae (the Spurge family). It is an evergreen herb that is native to Kashmir in northwestern India and Bhutan. It grows in meadows and along roadsides and is 40 to 70 cm tall. The stem is erect and branched. The leaves are long-lanceolate or oblong, sometimes narrowly elliptic, and alternate. These dark green leaves have a white midrib. Cyathiums are produced from May to August and produce yellow flowers. This plant was awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Garden Merit Award.
