ヨーロッパの中部からウクライナやトルコに分布しています。明るい林内や潅木帯に生え、高さは６０センチほどになります。葉は長楕円形から倒披針形で互生します。４月から６月ごろ、茎頂から枝をだして杯状花序をつけます。花はほとんど目立ちませんが、花序の基部に黄色く色づく総苞葉を輪生状につけます。

トウダイグサ科トウダイグサ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Euphorbia polychroma。英名は Cushon spurge。

The Cushon spurge (Euphorbia polychroma) belongs to Euphorbiaceae (the Spurge family). It is an evergreen herb that is distributed from central Europe to Ukraine and Turkey. It grows in bright forests and shrub belts and is about 60 cm high. The leaves alternate from oblong to lanceolate. From April to June, branches are borne on the shoot apex and cyathia are borne. The flowers are barely noticeable, but the base of the inflorescence has yellow-colored bracts in whorled.
