The False capers (Euphorbia terracina) belongs to Euphorbiaceae (the Spurge family). It is an evergreen herb that is native to the coastal areas of the Mediterranean. It has now naturalized in North America and western to southwestern Australia. The stems are reddish and 50-100 cm tall. The leaves are nearly triangular, entire, pointed at the tip, and grow alternately on the stem. From spring to summer, cyathiums appear at the top of the stem, producing inconspicuous green to yellow-green flowers. The fruit is a triangular capsule 3-5 mm long.
