ユリオプス属は南アフリカからアラビア半島に１００種ほどが分布しています。ウィルギネウス種は、南アフリカのケープ地方からレソトが原産です。高さは４メートルくらいになり、濃い緑色の針状の葉が密生します。１月から５月ごろ、枝先に小さな黄色い頭花を咲かせます。写真は園芸品種の「ゴールデンクラッカー（cv. Golden Cracker）」。

キク科ユリオプス属の常緑小低木で、学名は Euryops virgineus。英名は Honey euryops。

The Euryops genus is distribured about 100 species from South Africa to the Arabian Peninsula. Euryops virgineus is native from the Cape region of South Africa to Lesotho. This shrub grows up about 4 m in height, and bears densely the dark green needle-like leaves. The small yellow flower heads blooms at the end of the branches from January to May. The photo is the horticultural variety "Golden Cracker".
