やまあじさい (山紫陽花)

わが国の本州、関東地方以西から四国・九州、それに朝鮮半島南部に分布しています。「がくあじさい」に似ていて、沢沿いや林縁などに生えます。よく分枝して高さ１〜１．５メートルくらいになり、長楕円形の葉は薄くて対生します。６月から８月ごろ、枝先に散房花序を出して薄紫色の小さな花を咲かせます。花のように見えるのは萼で真ん中に小さな両生花があります。萼の色は白色や薄紅色、青色などです。 |

アジサイ科アジサイ属の落葉低木で、学名は Hydrangea serrata。英名はありません。 |

"Yama-ajisai" (Hydrangea serrata) belongs to Hydrangeaceae (the Hydrangea family). It is a small deciduous tree that is native westward from Honshu to Shikoku, Kyushu of Japan, and the southern Korean Peninsula. This tree grows in woodland edges or along mountain streams and can reach 1-1.5 m in height. The leaves are thin, oblong and opposite. The corymbs are borne on the new branches, and the pale purple bisexualflowers at center and the neuter flowers at around the periphery bloom from June to August. The neuter flower is a calyx and it has various colors, white, pale rose-pink or blue. |
