The Korean mistletoe (Viscum album ssp. coloratum) belongs to Viscaceae (the Mistletoe family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to Japan, the Korean Peninsula and China. This shrub is woody hemi-parasitic and grows on other trees (Beech, Mizu-nara, Japanese zelkova or Cherry). It can reach 50-80 cm in height and goes over to branch dichotomously. The leaves are oblanceolate to spatulate and opposite. It is diecious. The inconspicous yellow flowers appear from February to March. The fruits are berry and ripen in pale yellow from October to December.
