The Bermuda buttercup double flower variant (Oxalis pes-caprae f. pleniflora) belongs to Oxalidaceae (the Wood sorrel family). It is a perennial herb that is a double-flowered variety of the "Bermuda buttercup", native to the Cape region of South Africa. It grows to a height of 15 to 30 cm. In the fall and spring, it produces large, bright lemon-colored flowers in umbels that grow long and spread out on long flower stalks. The flowers are double-petaled, with multiple petal-like pseudostamens, which are modified stamens. In Japan, "Oxalis Double Yellow Cocoa (Sˆ¤)" was registered as a variety in 2007.
