"Yakushima-giboushi" (Hosta sieboldii f. spathulata) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed on Yakushima Island in Japan. It is a form of the "Variegated hosta", but it is small as a whole and grows on rocks at high altitudes. From May to July, the flower stalks are borne and pale bluish-purple flowers come in bloom.
