やくしまぎぼうし (屋久島擬宝珠)

わが国の屋久島に分布しています。「こばぎぼうし（小葉擬宝珠）」の一品種ですが全体に小さく、標高の高い岩場に生えます。５月から７月ごろ、花茎を伸ばして淡い青紫色の花を咲かせます。 |

ユリ科ギボウシ属の多年草で、学名は Hosta sieboldii f. spathulata。英名はありません。 |

"Yakushima-giboushi" (Hosta sieboldii f. spathulata) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed on Yakushima Island in Japan. It is a form of the "Variegated hosta", but it is small as a whole and grows on rocks at high altitudes. From May to July, the flower stalks are borne and pale bluish-purple flowers come in bloom. |
