やまねこのめそう (山猫の目草)

わが国の各地をはじめ、朝鮮半島や中国東北部に分布しています。やや湿り気のある林の中に生え、高さは１０～１５センチになります。葉は腎円形で互生します。３月から４月ごろ、淡緑色の花を咲かせます。蒴果は洋杯形で、「ねこ」の瞳を連想させます。和名は、山に生える「ねこのめそう（猫の目草）」から。中国語では「日本金腰（ri ben jin yao）」と呼ばれます。 |

ユキノシタ科ネコノメソウ属の多年草で、学名は Chrysosplenium japonicum。英名はありません。 |

The "Yama-nekonome-so" (Chrysosplenium japonicum) belongs to Saxifragaceae (the Saxifrage family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed all over Japan, the Korean Peninsula and north-eastern China. This herb grows in wettish forests and can reach 10-15 cm in height. The leaves are reniform-round and arranged in alternate. The pale green flowers bloom from March to April. The capsules are glass-shaped and are reminded of cat's eyes. It is called "日本金腰" (ri ben jin yao) in Chinese. |
