よどがわつつじ (淀川躑躅) [Index] [Back] 朝鮮半島に分布する「ちょうせんやまつつじ（朝鮮山躑躅）」の園芸品種です。花は紅紫色で、八重咲きです。古くから「ぼたんつつじ（牡丹躑躅）」の名前で栽培されてきました。 ツツジ科ツツジ属の落葉低木で、学名は Rhododendron yedoense var. yedoense f. yedoense。英名はありません。 "Yodogawa-tsutsuji" (Rhododendron yedoense var. yedoense f. yedoense) belongs to Ericaceae (the Azalea family). It is a small deciduous tree that is a cultivar of "Chosen-yama-tsutsuji" (Rhododendron yedoense var. yedoense f. poukhanense) which is native to the Korean Peninsula.
