The blue yucca (Yucca rigida) belongs to Agavaceae (the Agave family). It is a small evergreen tree that is native to north-central Mexico. This tree grows to 3-4 m tall, with minimal branching near the top. The leaves are powder blue, rigid, with yellow margins. They are about 90 cm long by 2.5 cm wide, and have a sharp spine at the tip. The 1.5-1.8 m long, flowering stalk bear and bloom white flowers in the late spring.
